2025 SFM Updates

We are stoked that 2025 has been a great year for the museum.  Our biggest fundraiser of the year, The Fourth Annual Surfing Florida Museum Charity Golf Tournament, set records for players and donations. This will allow 2026 to be our best year yet.  Two exhibits and a new museum location are confirmed.

Our ongoing exhibit in the Lantana Public Library begins its third year and includes new photo panels in the Community Room showing local champions including Olympic Gold Medal winner Caroline Marks, who was born here in Palm Beach County where she started surfing.

This summer we open our most important exhibit, sponsored by the Historical Society of Palm Beach County, in the Richard and Pat Johnson Museum of Palm Beach County History.  The location is the historic Palm
Beach County Courthouse, across the street from the new courthouse.  It will be in the museum's main exhibit gallery beginning in June, 2026.

But before then, the Surfing Florida Museum will be announcing our new location in West Palm Beach.  The location is on Dixie Highway with 9,200 square feet of space! We will announce the location and grand opening date very soon, so stay tuned.

Along with our new museum and exhibits, we are premiering the vintage 1980s "Fox Wave Weapons Team" shirts, authorized by John Parton.  And our first long-sleeve performance shirt commemorating the 50th Anniversary of "The Ship", with our best selling photo of the Amyrillis on the back and our Kim Neilson Surfing Florida Museum front logo.  Both these shirts will be available  here on our website this month.

Special thanks to the members of our Board of Trustees and the members of our Advisory Committee. Many of them have been with us for fifteen years.
